Alicia: London, United Kingdom; Alicia was beginning to get tired of living in Birmingham, and of having nothing to do. Many times she had explored the city, but it had nothing left to discover, "And what is the use of a city," thought Alicia, "Without anything new to see?" So she was considering in her own mind (as well as she could by making many lists and analysing every line) as whether the pleasure of moving to London would be worth the trouble of packing up the house and braving the M1, when suddenly a new job offer made the choice for her.
